Namaqua UU Programs |
Religious Exploration
We recognize that religious teaching is vital to our children's
spiritual growth.
Our Religious Exploration program is designed to nurture creativity,
encourage children to appreciate their world with lessons about
family, friends, and neighbors, and help children learn how to live
according to their beliefs.
During each
Sunday service a paid caregiver provides a nursery environment for
children from infancy through three years of age.

Social Action
Our Social Action Committee finds ways for members to have an
impact on social concerns in our community and around the world.
Current activities include:
-
Participating in
Loveland's Interfaith
Hospitality Network, which assists homeless families.
-
Donating food to
the House of Neighborly
Services.
-
Helping with the United Way distribution
of school supplies.
-
Contributing through our Guest at the Table program to the
Unitarian Universalist Service Committee's global efforts in social
justice.

Pastoral Care
The Pastoral Care Team
represents the "heart" of the Namaqua community. It ministers to
members and friends of Namaqua in hard times, recognizes
accomplishments and joys in good times, and communicates concerns and
positive happenings to the congregation.
The Team notes birthdays,
weddings, and deaths with cards and announcements. It offers ministry
through get well and sympathy messages to the ill and bereaved; meals
to the unable; and visits, flowers, and special small gifts to those
with serious concerns and illnesses. It also provides transportation
to and from congregational services and medical procedures.

Music
Adult
Choir
Be a part
of
our choir and enjoy the thrill of making music. At most Sunday
services, the adult choir provides special music or leads the
congregation in learning new hymns, chants, and other songs. It
rehearses at 7:15 pm on Wednesday evenings (except during the summer) at
members’ homes. You are welcome to join the choir at any time.
Youth
Choir
This
choir offers young persons the opportunity to learn the basics of
choral music from an experienced choir director and to sing from time
to time before the congregation. The youth choir rehearses at
8:30
am on the first and third Sundays of the month (except during the summer) at
the church.. |

Women's Group
WOMEN!
We have a time and place to call our own, a safe,
open setting in which to learn from each other, support each other, and
inspire each other through:
– Spiritual & political discussions
– Book & video discussions
– Laughter & commiseration
Time: 7 – 9 p.m., the second Tuesday of the month
Place: The
church
[Light refreshments are served]
Our mission is friendship and growth. Participants
determine and lead discussions on topics related to women’s
spiritual heritage and future. This year, we are creating our own
curriculum for sharing our gifts with one another.
All women are welcome.

Circle Suppers
Good meals,
good company! Once a month
groups of 6-10 participants meet for supper in the home of a host
family. Each person brings a dish to share. The suppers offer an
opportunity to enjoy a meal together and to get better acquainted with one
another.
Special Events
Typical get-togethers
include congregational potlucks, game nights, and
visits to nearby points of interest. In the spring, the congregation
celebrates at its Annual Fellowship Dinner.
